Christmas Wishes

This is an Artist Trading Card made for a forum challenge theme of Christmas.

The mountboard base was covered in paper from the Shabby Princess Winter collection & the edges sanded.

The middle is raised on 3d foam pads & the letters coloured. I have added a purple eyelet, lilac & white organza ribbon & silver Stickles.

Reflections in Orange

The challenge theme on Dans ma maison ... this week is Orange.

The finishing touches include a small Doo-dad word from Tim Holtz, a few pearl gems & a butterfly made using a paper punch.

Daisy Chain

Leonie's Fab Friday Artist Trading Card Challenge theme is Flower Chains.

For this ATC, I have used a mountboard base painted with Distress crackle paint (antique linen). Once dry, I rubbed over the paint with the same colour Distress Ink, to highlight the cracks.

I stamped the daisy head image from Linda Luckin Designs onto my own backing paper (a short story about a daisy) & then punch out some flower shapes from the same paper.

I doodled to link up the flower shapes into a chain.

Finally, I added a touch of gold Stickles & edged the ATC with my Krylon 18ct gold leafing pen.

Flowers

The challenge theme on Make a Moo or Two this week is
Flowers.

I thought I would try out some new pens that arrived this week,
so I chose a small flower clear stamp
& using the aforementioned new pens,
inked my stamp & created a random pattern in different colours.

I then doodled around the edges of the flower images.

To finish the Moo, I used Glossy accents in the middle of the flowers.

Quite simple, but I like it!

Child's Play

This week's challenge on Creative Wednesday was to make a 2x2 inch piece on the theme of Children.

The mountboard base was covered with K&Company paper. The image of the girl was from Crafty Individuals. I coated the top with clear gesso to add extra texture & added a button & a butterfly cut from the paper to add dimension.

This is my first twinchie, which is a two inch "inchie".

Stampbord ATC

This is an Artist Trading Card using a piece of Stampbord as the main feature.

The ATC base is white mountboard coloured with Distress Inks (broken china & peeled paint). To make the background more muted, I covered it with a piece of script vellum secured with four gold eyelets.

The Stampbord was coloured using the same Distress Inks, then stamped with images from Elusive Images Flora & Fauna Collection, using Archival Ink (Jet Black). The centre of the petals were scratched off to reveal the white base of the Stampbord, together with outlines of the dragonflies.

The images were coloured in using Distress Inks (peeled paint & mustard seed), then I added a little doodling with my Inkssentials opaque pen.

For the finishing touches, I used my Krylon 18ct gold leafing to edge both the Stampbord & the ATC, then tied a piece of ribbon through one of the eyelets.

Glenda Waterworth has been running a competition on her blog to win some of her new Elusive Image stamps of the most fabulous bird images. I hope I am not too late to enter. See here for details.

My Little Book of Me

The project was to make a book about ourselves
& was designed for us to make something very personal
& hopefully inspirational.

There were detailed instructions to follow,
which I hope I have done justice to.

The dimensions of the covers are 6½ inches by 5 inches
(with 8 pages, each being 6 inches by 4½ inches).

I have put the photographs into a slideshow,
to show the finish project.

The covers & pages are mountboard.
I have used stickers by K&Company
& papers from their K-Ology range (Addison & Hannah),
my Krylon 18ct gold leafing pen,
a corner rubber stamp from Crafty Individuals,
VersaMark Watermark Ink Pad,
gold & clear embossing powder,
Distress Ink (walnut stain)
organza ribbon & gems,
various paints,
Glossy accents,
small buttons from Lasting Impressions,
a range of flower paper punches & sandpaper.

Wish upon a Star

The challenge theme on Dans ma maison ... is Star.

I have used mountboard as the base, which was painted & then distressed using sandpaper.

The background was made using swirly clear stamps by Anna Griffin, Versamark watermark stamp pad, gold embossing powder & a white Inkssentials pen.

The images are from Crafty Computer Paper & the star is a mini Grungeboard element, painted with Acrylic Paint Dabber (Stream).

Saddle Sore!

The challenge this week on Make a Moo or Two is
Wheels.

I covered the mountboard base with map paper
& stamped the image from Claritystamp with Archival Ink (Sepia).

The word is one of Tim's Doo-Dads
& for the finishing touches,
I added a drop of Glossy Accents, gingham ribbon & a few doodles.

A Little House for Me

The challenge on Creative Wednesday is to make a Row House.

I have used a rubber stamp by Tim Holtz, papers from Crafts Beautiful, pages torn from a children's book, tissue paper, PVA glue, Archival Ink (Jet Black), Distress Ink (antique linen) & ribbon.

Can you guess what it is yet?

The challenge theme this week on Dans ma maison is a song.

I painted the mountboard base with black acrylic paint & then used a non sequitur stamp of rambling roses, stamped with clear VersaMark ink & heat embossed with gold powder. It was edged with my Krylon 18ct gold leafing pen.

I took the lyrics from my current favourite song & put them through Wordle to create a background for my bird. The leftover words were added to the bottom.

I added butterfly images from Crafty Computer Paper

For the finishing touch, I added a gold eyelet & tied black & gold organza ribbon through the hole.

The song .... Black & Gold by Sam Sparro.

Highlights

Leonie's Fab Friday ATC Challenge this week is to highlight an element on our card.

I have used a mountboard base, a rubber stamp from Paper Artsy, clear embossing powder, Glossy accents, a white Inkssentials pen, Adirondack Inks (Denim & Lettuce), two white eyelets & ribbon.

I stamped the image using blue ink, covered with clear powder & heat embossed. I coloured the rest of the white mountboard with a blend of the two inks using a brayer, sprayed with a fine mist of water & dried with a heat gun.

I sanded the edges to remove some of the ink & reveal the white mountboard underneath.

I highlighted the stamped image by outlining with white & black pens. I coloured in the stars using the white pen then covered them with glossy accents.

I restamped the image on white paper to create more stars, which were cut out & stuck to the card. The green stars were highlighted using the white pen.

The final touch was to add the eyelets & ribbon, fraying the edges slightly.

Craft Buddies

I meet Leonie Pujol for the first time today. I have been a member of her Artist Trading Club since it started & regularly take part in her Fab Friday ATC Challenges.

Leonie was signing copies of her book, which is a wonderful source of inspiration. Her book shows you how to make 20 ATCs, however as I have now seen the actual examples, I can honestly say, the book photo's don't capture the dimensionality & texture of them nor the magic of the light reflecting off the metal embellishments.

I had a lovely time today meeting & chatting to new friends. I received two Artist Trading Cards as RAKs (Random Act of Kindness).

Thank you to Leonie, Becky & everyone else I got chatting to.

Stupid Boy!

This week's challenge theme on Make a Moo or Two is
School Days.

My little boy has not been paying attention in class
& been made to stand in the corner with a dunce's hat on.

Tut Tut!

I covered the mountboard base with graph paper design.
The image of the boy is from art-e-zine,
the D & buttons are from Tim's Doo Dad sheets.

Words & imagination from me!

Polite Society

This week's challenge theme on Arty Girlz is Vintage.

I have made a card using an image from Crafty Computer Paper, a bird image from Graphics Fairy, background paper from Shabby Princess, with words & imagination from me.

Rather Fishy

Just a little something I was doodling with today.

I coloured a domino sized piece of stampbord with Distress Inks (broken china & peeled paint) then started to doodle, scratching off the ink to reveal the white base beneath.

It turned into a fish - now I wasn't expecting that !!

Fish out of Water

The challenge theme on Dans ma Maison this week is the Sea.

The image of the lady is from art-e-zine & the fish images are from Crafty Computer Paper.

I used tissue paper, paints, silver Stickles, Artifacts rubber stamps & Distress Inks (weathered wood & broken china).

Music

The challenge theme on Make a Moo or Two is
Music.

I have used a lovely image from art-e-zine
from the sheet music of Cecilia (by Herman Ruby & Dave Dreyer),
described as "a new catchy comedy fox-trot song".

The background is a copyright free image from Craft Computer Paper.

It's also worth mentioning that Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians.

Quite apt!
