Midnight Moonlight

Week 34 in my mixed media collage journal,
with inspiration from Emily Brontë.

midnight moonlight amid the twinkling stars
soft music sighing, voices lost to dreams
as darkness lengthens autumn creeps near
with season slowly merging into season
leaves begin to rustle in the cool night air

I used Daler-Rowney White Gesso Primer,
a Tim Holtz Pocket Card for the moon,
printed images from the Graphics Fairy
& printed text.

Worry Not

Week 33 in my mixed media collage journal,
with my main inspiration this week from the poet
Algernon Charles Swinburne
& the monochrome Wanderlust class by Kasia.

to the wandering wind, who knows no rest
for the weeds that now lie dead
to the question that is left unasked
for the tired that ne'er can sleep
embrace the muse of change and worry not

I used
Daler-Rowney White Gesso Primer,
a black Faber-Castell watercolour pencil.
the vintage lady image from Mary Green
at Green Paper Packages,
photo corners from Paperchase,
old dress pattern paper,
Tim Holtz Tissue Tape,
Tim Holtz Pocket Cards
(the ticket & numbers),
piece of paper from an old typing manual,
piece of homemade washi style tape
printed images from Shawn Petite
(the word "muse" & grid paper)
the word "discover" is by Hot Off The Press
& printed text.

Stand and Stare

Week 32 of my
Poetry Reimagined
project in my mixed media collage journal,
with inspiration from poet
W H Davies.

why do we have no time
to stand and stare
at clouds rushing by
birds up high in the air
to count the raindrops fall
and listen to the windblown trees

I used Daler-Rowney Gesso Primer,
Faber-Castell watercolour pencil,
old dress pattern paper,
a Cicely Mary Barker image
(cut out from an old book),
Tim Holtz Tissue Tape,
Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs
& printed text.

Be Careful

Week 31 in my mixed media collage journal.

Another week when the poets did not inspire me,
so instead I captured my thoughts today
following a documentary I watched yesterday
on Netflix entitled
The Great Hack.

look again, nothing is as it seems
in this twisty turny upside down world
where white is grey and blue is red

a deeply furrowed brow behind every masked head
take care, beware, be careful what you think

I used Daler-Rowney Gesso Primer,
 Faber-Castell watercolour pencils,
Tim Holtz Tissue Tape,
Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs,
a Tim Holtz Paper Doll,
Stampington Washi Tape,
image from Percy & Bloom
(bingo card numeral),
& printed text.
