Lift up your Eyes

Week 18 in my
Mellow Kraft
Journal
.

The journal prompt this week
from France Papillon was
Eyes Closed.

One Sunday night,
I happened to be awake
in the early hours
& needing some fresh air,
I stood by an open window.

The night sky was clear.

The stars were bright.

After a while
my eyes could see smaller stars
then I tracked a satellite in orbit,
then another.

At a time when my eyes
should have been firmly closed,
they were instead wide open.

As my eyes followed the satellite
across the vast sky,
I wanted to be free too,
but lockdown means there is
nowhere to escape to,
no exit.

I used a paper doll
by Tim Holtz,
patterned paper
from Glenda Waterworth,
a butterfly image
from the Graphics Fairy,
Life's Journey Ruler paper
from K & Company,
a label image from Joseph Cornell,
words cut from an old novel,
a Sakura Pigma Micron pen
& printed text.

Our Fight

Week 16 in my
Mellow Kraft
Journal
.

The prompt this week
from France Papillon was
to use inspiration from
Pinterest &/or Instagram.

I knew straight away
how I wanted to approach
this week's journal page,
by using 16 inchies in a grid format.

Then on Sunday, as I listened to
our Prime Minister's first statement
following his release from hospital,
I knew I wanted to include these words
from his speech.

I used Tim Holtz Paper Dolls,
Tim Holtz Design Tape
& patterned paper
from Glenda Waterworth.

I also used
Life's Journey Ruler paper pad
from K & Company.
printed text &
a black Pigma Micron pen.

Keep your calm

Week 14 in my
Mellow Kraft
Journal
.

The calendar & butterfly images
are from the Graphics Fairy.

My word for this month is
seijaku.

The prompt this week
from France Papillon was
change.
As we proceed through our
grieving process,
we begin to accept the changes
that this current world situation
has imposed on us.

I used words cut from an old novel
yes, actually from chapter 44,
honestly, a pure co-incidence,
a Tim Holtz Paper Doll,
patterned paper
from Glenda Waterworth
& Life's Journey Ruler paper pad
from K & Company.

I also used a label image from Joseph Cornell,
printed text,
a Pigma Micron pen,
& Tim Holtz design tape.
