Creating a Vision

The Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn is a year long creative challenge,
using a letter from the alphabet every two weeks as inspiration.

The next letter (as it is not being done in alphabetical order) is
V
& we must include the definition of our chosen word.

I have chosen
Vision.

The image of the lady is from The Graphics Fairy.

The definition is torn from an old English dictionary
& the additional words are cut from an old book.

The ATC will have a place in my 2016 Art Journal for Week 42.

Art Journal Week 41

This is my art journal page for week 41.

The prompt this week on Colour Me Positive is Simplicity.

My aim was to keep the page background as simple as possible.

On this page I have used graphics & papers from past classes at Brave Girl University (BGU).

The background has a white gesso base, followed by two layers of acrylic paint (Pistachio).

The grid was drawn in using my White Dylusions Paint Pen,
together with my white uni-ball Signo
& uni POSCA pens to add the doodling.

Art Journal Week 40

This is my art journal page for week 40.

The prompt this week on Colour Me Positive is Future.

This Artist Trading Card (ATC) uses a background graphic from BGU
& a butterfly image from Crafty Computer Paper.

The second is for The Craft Barn Alpha Challenge.
You can read more about this ATC here.

The background was created for Week 39,
for full details see here.

Here are my journal pages for Weeks 39 & 40 together.

The Matter of Understanding

The Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn is a year long creative challenge,
using a letter from the alphabet every two weeks as inspiration.

The next letter (as it is not being done in alphabetical order) is
E
& we must include the definition of our chosen word.

I have chosen
Empathy.

The image is from The Graphics Fairy.

The definition is torn from an old English dictionary
& the additional words are cut from an old book.

The ATC will have a place in my 2016 Art Journal for Week 40.

Art Journal Week 39

This is my art journal page for week 39.

The prompt this week on Colour Me Positive is Home.

Inspired by this prompt I created the same background
on both pages for this spread (Week 39 & Week 40).

The background has a white gesso base coat.

I used images torn out from an old National Trust Members Book,
then applied more gesso to soften the edges.

The grid was drawn in using my Black Dylusions Paint Pen.

I used Stampington washi tape to create my two text stickers.

As each new month begins I have used it's name on my pages
& although there is an October in Pride & Prejudice (my text source)
I must have already used this page else where in my artwork.

So I have improvised ...

The Truth Card uses a background from BGU,
with a butterfly image from Crafty Computer Paper.

The background has a white gesso base coat & colour added using
Acrylic Paint (Waterfall)
Distress Crayon (mermaid lagoon)
Distress Ink (peeled paint)
Tim Holtz Stencil (Dot Fade)

Here are my journal pages for Weeks 37 & 38 together.

Making Choices

The Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn is a year long creative challenge,
using a letter from the alphabet every two weeks as inspiration.

The next letter (as it is not being done in alphabetical order) is
X
& we must include the definition of our chosen word.

I have chosen
X,
which has many interesting meanings.

The image of the lady is from The Graphics Fairy.

The definition is torn from an old English dictionary
& the additional words are cut from an old book.

This ATC will have a place in my Art Journal for Week 38.
