Art Journal Text

The crusade this month for the GPP Street Team is to use printed text to create a background.

I took a loose blank page from my handmade art journal & covered the white surface with a story torn from a magazine. The text background was then covered with bold words cut from two magazine supplements that came with the Sunday papers.

I used matte multi-medium to both adhere & coat the project. The rough edges were trimmed & then lightly sanded.

The background will be used to complete a future crusade.

  1. Daisy - terrific composition. Love all the black and white with that bit of pink. Cool to pop around and read all the phrases. Wasn't that easy? And fun? Thanks for being so quick, and for sharing your work with the team!

  2. Extra points for getting your name in there! And I noticed the "in" from "think" was also used in the word behind. Too clever!

  6. Daisy.... Great background for a journal page.... although I like it just like it is!

I am going to try this TODAY!

I've not seen this site before but I love it and am going to use my brand new unused moleskin (which I have had for about a year!)

.... thanks for leading me to it!

  15. The strong linear visual with the wonderful, off-kilter pink instruction to "think" just makes this so visually appealing! And it DOES make me think! Thanks for doing this. Love it!

  17. I love the 'think's in pink - I only spotted one to start with and then as I really read the words, the others popped out at me. Very cool!
