Birds, Cats & Dogs

This project was to make a matching pair of altered matchboxes.

. I used Brenda Walton's Maison paper,
elements from K & Company,
& metal animal charms.

The boxes were covered in the patterned paper.

For the drawer pulls, I used Hitch Fasteners by Tim Holtz
& miniature tassels, as a decorative feature.

I added definitions torn from an old English dictionary,
aged with Distress Ink (brushed corduroy).

I added brown ric-rac ribbon & two metal charms inside each box.

My thanks to
Brenda - such inspiring papers
Tim - Distress Ink & Hitch Fasteners

  1. These are darling little matchboxes, I love everything you've done - nice idea to have a match-ing pair(sorry, couldn't avoid the pun!). I took aprt in Bad Penny's swap and LOVED IT! Maybe you'll take part in the next swap.....? x

  2. Love these cute little boxes. The hitch fasteners, (think that's what you called them) work great as little drawer knobs. x

  3. Oh daisy they are gorgeous. Love them - 'specially the kitty one! LOve S xxx
