My inchie this week is inspired by the current challenge
on Art Creations Friday
& a new Alphabet Challenge blog.



The large letter is from Funky Hand’s Shabby Saturday
& the background is from The Graphics Fairy.



The artwork is on a mountboard base,
with the edges sanded & a brad was added.

Looking back ...

The challenge on Make a Moo or Two is

Yesterday.

I used a Sarah Kay image with paper &

elements from the Shabby Princess Vintage Floral range.

I used a mountboard base, a little black ink

(yes, every single piece was edged with black ink)

& a lot of patience!

What a Hoot!

I wanted to take part in the challenge on Art Creations Friday, but I got distracted making cards, so here finally is my entry, all be it rather late.


We were given a fabulous background to play with.


It is dark & haunting, so my piece is based on a woodland scene at night, with mice scurrying around under foot & moths flying through the cool evening air, whilst the owl sits waiting & watching.


Not sure how much detail will show in the photographs, but they are there. The owl is from Dover & the other images from The Graphics Fairy & The Vintage Moth.


The printed artwork was adhered to a mountboard base & the edges sanded. Glossy Accents, a large eyelet & fibres were added.

Easter Card

Dressing Up

A fun card using a fabulous Sarah Kay image & papers from the Shabby Princess Spring Breeze range.


I used Bazzill card, a clear glitter Sakura pen to highlight the mirror & pearls, a little black ink & added some pale pink glitter gems.


I enjoy sending Just because ... cards as it's always lovely to receive unexpected post, especially a beautiful handmade card.

With such cute chicks, I just had to make an Easter card with this delightful Sarah Kay image.


I used papers & elements from the Shabby Princess Express Yourself range.


I added some brown ric rac ribbon & a little black ink.

A simple Thank you card, using the Shabby Saturday range of papers & elements from Funky Hand.



I have added glitter gems, silver mirror card & a little black ink.

The challenge theme on Make a Moo or Two this week is

Postage/Carte Postale.

I just had to use my new mini stamps from Tim Holtz.

I created a background by crumpling a piece of white paper,

then used Distress Inks (antique linen & walnut stain),

then ironed it flat.

I used Distress Ink (walnut stain) to stamp my image

& then heat embossed with Distress embossing powder (black soot).

I added a further image, but this time heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I covered my mountboard base with the paper,

sanded the edges,

added some gold metallic rub-on & brads to finish.

Dusting away the cobwebs ...

... after a few days away from my craft desk, here is a New Home card.


I have used a gorgeous Sarah Kay image & papers from the Shabby Princess Happy Go Lucky range.


There's a little black ink around the edges & is mounted on cream Soft Touch card by Inspire me.

Distressing Time

My inchie for this week was inspired by
the crafting phenomenon that is Tim Holtz.

Nothing unusual in that, I hear you cry,
but what you don't know is that I received
my new mini classic stamps this week
& they are all I had hoped for.

I begged him to release some of his older designs
in a smaller version & two years later,
I am sitting here with the biggest smile on my face.

You see, I don't do big art.

If you are a regular following,
you will know I love inchies, Moos & ATCs
& the new mini stamps are going to be perfect,
just perfect.

So where to start.

They are all so inspiring.

So I need to take a little time to myself,
take a few deep breaths ...

... so Time it is.


The mountboard base was covered in a scrap of old paper,
which was the word definition for time.

The clock face mini stamp was inked with Distress Ink
(walnut stain)
& covered in Distress Powder
(black soot)
& heat embossed.


I added an old watch part in the centre of the dial
& my first mini piece was completed.

Rather puzzling ...

The challenge this week on Make a Moo or Two

is to include a puzzle piece on our project.

The image is taken from an old John Player's cigarette card,

which has been altered, printed out &

covers the mountboard base, with the edges sanded.

I have used some of Tim's word doo-dads & a small blank puzzle piece,

which I covered in a printed version of the altered butterfly image.

The last photo shows the original butterfly image, which was my inspiration for this Moo.

Happiness is like a Butterfly ...

This Artist Trading Card (ATC) was inspired by an old John Player cigarette card.


The background image is by Glenda Waterworth, but together with the original butterfly image, has been digitally altered.

The full quote by Nathaniel Hawthorne is just wonderful.

"Happiness is like a butterfly which,

when pursued, 

is always beyond our grasp,

but, if you will sit down quietly,

may alight upon you."

This last photo shows the original butterfly, the inspiration for this ATC.

Colouring Flower Soft

I  recoloured some Ivory Flower Soft, using alcohol inks, by decanting a little into three glass spice jars.

I added a few drops of Rangers Adirondack Alcohol ink into each one, stirring with a cocktail stick. As the alcohol ink dries quickly, the Flower Soft particles absorb different levels of ink, resulting in a mixed tone.

Here is the original colour, together with the three colours I made using Stream, Lettuce & Cranberry inks.



The coloured Flower Soft can be used on their own or you can mix your own blends.

C is for Carrot

The challenge theme this week on Make a Moo or Two is

Fruit & Vegetables.

I have used an image from Dover of Peter Rabbit.

The background was created using Distress Ink

(spiced marmalade & peeled paint).

A green eyelet & green gingham ribbon were added as the finishing touches.

Mothering Sunday

Mothering Sunday is only a few weeks away now.

Here in the UK, it's on 22nd March.


I have used papers from the Funky Hand
Huge Funky Love Word Book download
& butterfly images from Dover.

And yes, there has been a little tweaking with the colour settings again.


I have also used brown textured card,
pale pink organza ribbon & gems.

The base card is Cream Soft Touch card by Inspire me.

Birthday Wishes

A Birthday card, using paper from the Shabby Princess Urban Kiwi range.


I have used green textured & black pearlescent card, olive green organza ribbon, pearl gems & black ink to edge almost everything.
