Hold Me, Dance with Me ...

This is my nod towards the big wedding that is taking place today ...

It is a mountboard Moo,
covered front & back in patterned paper from The English Paper Company
using two delightful images from Crafty Individuals.

Four small plum pearls to add a touch of glamour ...

Texture Tuesday

Texture Tuesday is here again & the challenge this week is
to use at least one layer of Kim's Serendipity texture.

I used two layers of the Serendipity texture & composed a haiku for added visual interest.

The original photograph was taken late October 2009,
on a early morning walk across the downs, where sheep graze freely on open heathland.

Fuchsia & Butterfly

This greeting card uses a decoupage sheet from Splash Crafts.

The layers were cut out & edged with black ink,
then shaped & adhered using Pinflair's Glue Gel
to give added dimension.

I used a sheet of patterned paper from The English Paper Company as backing,
with the edges sanded.

For the finishing touches,
I added Ranger's White Opal Liquid Pearls
to the flowers
& white pearls in three of the corners.

Texture Tuesday

Time for some self-indulgent digital playtime, because it's Texture Tuesday.

Our photographic challenge this week was to use two of Kim's textures,
Sweet Treat & Silence.

Here is my finished photograph.

This is my original photograph taken earlier this month of a daffodil growing in my front garden.

In addition to Kim's textures, I also used an old family postcard.

Easter Beauties

I deliberated & cogitated over what to create for my Easter project this year
& settled on unashamedly stealing an idea from Joanna Urbani
& her gorgeous altered Scrabble tiles.

The initials of each themed tile together spell out a word or in her project,
the names of the delighted recipients.

I made mine out of mountboard inchies not Scrabble tiles
& mine spell out the word
Easter

Each one inch square of white mountboard was covered, front & back,
in patterned paper from K & Company designed by Brenda Walton.

The edges were sanded to add a little aged, distressed, shabby feel.

I found six beautiful faces on Blanca's blog, which I digitally remastered
(altered the colour, tone & resized).

After looking deeply into their eyes,
I gave each lady a description which I felt matched their mood.

To add a hint of colour & focal interest,
I used some Cherry Blossom flowers
leftover from my Nice n Easel decoupaged greeting cards.

These little beauties will stay in my desk throughout Easter
& raise a smile each time I look at them ...

Texture Tuesday

In my happy wanderings around blogland, I stumbled upon Kim Klassen's blog & her weekly photographic challenge Texture Tuesdays.

Our photographic challenge this week was to use at least one of Kim's textures.

I used Sweet Treat & Love.

Here is my finished photograph.

I composed a haiku to fill an empty space on the photograph.

This is my original photograph taken in February this year on a short break in Tuscany.

Green Paper Challenge: Three Yellow Birds

A tag made for the April challenge set by Mary at Green Paper,
using the three images provided.

I made a set of five mountboard tags covered in patterned paper from Hot Off The Press.

The remaining four are ready for the next few challenges.

I added some scraps of patterned paper designed by Brenda Walton from her Maison range.
