Home Sweet Home

The word prompt this week for the inchie challenge
over on Inchy by Inch is Home.

To make my inchie, I started with a mountboard base
1 inch by 1 inch square.

To this I adhered paper from an old dictionary,
yes you've guessed it, on the definition of the word home.

I stamped a clear acrylic stamp image
of a bird's nest by Anna Griffin on white tissue paper,
using Archival Ink (Jet Black).

I adhered the stamped image over the dictionary paper,
using Matte Multi-Medium.

The image of the blackbird is from The Vintage Moth.

The inchie was then mounted on Papermania backing paper,
using 3d foam & the wording added.

Words, Wings & Dogwood

A digital collage using the image provided
for the challenge on Art Creations Friday
& lots of images from The Vintage Moth.

The background used was a digitally altered version
of my painted background made for a GPP crusade,
details of which you can find here.

Take my hand ...

The word prompt for the inchie challenge blog Inchy by Inch this week is Future.

The mountboard inchie base was covered with an extract from an old dictionary.

The image is from a sheet of acetate images from Crafthouse Press.

I mounted the inchie, using 3d foam, on to a square of Papermania backing paper & added my thoughts on the word prompt, which inspired my inchie.

Regret not the Past

The word prompt for the inchie challenge blog Inchy by Inch this week is Past.

The mountboard inchie base was covered with an extract from an old dictionary.

The image is from a sheet of acetate images from Crafthouse Press. I used four tiny eyelets to secure the acetate to the mountboard inchie.

Doing things differently

The crusade last month for the GPP Street Team was to create a journal page background using a credit card to apply paints.

I used Eco Green Crafts acrylic paints (Black, Pure Silver, White & Rose).

This month's crusade "Back to Back" is to create two copies of the background & work with them in different ways.

To do this, I scanned the painted background & printed two copies on to watercolour paper.

To create the first, I went back to the previous month's challenge, Text.

To create an overlay, I scanned the original page & edited the image from a jpg to a png image (erasing the whites & grey from the background). I also reversed the image.

I took a piece of white A4 card & created a sticky border using a glue stick. I carefully adhered a piece of white tissue paper to the card, ensuring there were no wrinkles & that all the edges were stuck to the card.

Once dried, I printed out the png image on to the tissue paper & removed the white card backing.

I coated the printed page with matte multi-medium & placed the tissue paper, printed side down, on to the wet surface. I added a coat of matte multi-medium over the tissue paper. Once dried, I trimmed the edges. I outlined the THINK word in Sakura clear glitter Gelly Roll pen.

To create the second page, I stamped a butterfly image (also by Eco Green Crafts, from the Garden Chic set) using Archival Ink (Jet Black). I added colour to the butterflies by using a water brush & watercolour pencils. I added some printed text left over from the text background crusade.

I stamped the butterfly image twice more on a separate piece of white card & cut them out. I coloured one with pink watercolour pencil & coated the second with Distress Stickles (Clear Rock Candy). The butterflies were mounted using Pinflair Glue Gel to give dimension.

The pink butterfly formed the bottom layer with the monotone butterfly on top.

Autumn Altered cd

The end of the month will be here before I know it,
so in anticipation of it's speedy arrival, here is my project for Halloween.

It's an altered cd using Erica's Pumpkin & Aubergine & a few of their winged friends.

They are just so cute!

The back is also decorated with black & white checked ribbon through the top so it can hang.

Devotion

The word prompt for the inchie challenge blog Inchy by Inch this week is Devotion.

Tissue paper was adhered over the word definition from an old dictionary,
using matte Studio multi-medium.

The image is from a sheet of acetate images from Crafthouse Press.

I used four tiny eyelets to secure the acetate to the mountboard inchie.

I mounted the inchie, using 3d foam, on to a square of Papermania backing paper
& added additional wording to illustrate the thinking behind my inchie.
