ATC Junk Journal - Week 3

During the second lockdown in England,
I am taking a few moments
out of each day
to create in a small junk journal.

The closed journal is the size of an ATC
(Artist Trading Card)
2½ by 3½ inches
with 28 pages.

I have used paper scraps
from an old magazine
(Daphne's Diary from 2013),
an image of a lady from Kasia Avery
(which I had printed out for my weekly journal,
but it was too small)
& painted typing manual pages.

I have also used a black Stabilo All pencil
& Remnant Rubs by Tim Holtz.

Your Actions Matter

Week 47 in my
Mellow Kraft
Journal
.

The journal prompt
this week from France Papillon
on this month's theme of
colour
was
just no.

I have used patterned paper
from Glenda Waterworth &
Brenda Walton's Brianna
patterned paper
from K & Company.

There are photo corners by Paperchase,
a lady image from Kasia Avery,
butterfly & floral images
from the Graphics Fairy
& printed text.

The journal prompt was to look at
which colour we avoid using in our journals
& think about why we avoid it.

My colour was yellow.

Going Green

Week 45 in my
Mellow Kraft
Journal
.

A new month means a new theme
from France Papillon,
which for November is
colour.

The first art journal prompt was
I am ...

I have used patterned paper
from Glenda Waterworth &
Brenda Walton's Brianna
patterned paper
from K & Company.

There are photo corners by Paperchase,
word definitions torn from an old dictionary,
dymo black tape,
words cut from an old novel
& printed text.

The calendar is from the Graphics Fairy
& the bird image from Shawn Petite.

A new month also means
a new design focus
sabi
which I will explore more next week.

Finally a reference to the new lockdown
taking place in England from November 5th.

All non-essential shops,
bars, cafes & restaurants
have closed their doors
(apart from click & collect sales & takeaways)
& we are to work from home if we can.

It is due to last for 28 days.

Trust

We began a second lockdown
on 5th November here in England,
which will run for 28 days,
so I decided to create a small junk journal
to work in each day.

It is the size of an ATC
(Artist Trading Card)
which is 2½ by 3½ inches,
with 28 pages.

The cover is kraft card,
the pages are from an old typing manual,
some already covered in acrylic paint.

The number 5 on the journal cover
is from a delivery label
from our new garden shed
which was delivered back in September.

Day 1

There are remnant rubs
by Tim Holtz
smudged colour from soft pastels
& a word definition from an old dictionary.

I will be using scraps of paper,
already printed butterflies &
other bits & pieces.

I will publish a blog post
on this project
just once a week.
