A summary of the second week of
the Artful Memories Challenge
It is an altered photograph challenge,
with a different prompt for each day.
Day 8
This dapper gentleman is part of a photograph from my own archive.
I included a wonderful line from my favourite text source,
which is an old novel that I have been using for years now
as inspiration for my art pieces.

He was an optimistic guy,
but there was an emptiness in his life -
a space he needed to fill.

Day 10
With an image from
the Artful Memories Book.
Even though I had the word "laugh"
cut out from my the old book
ready to use on my index card,
I decided that Naomi needed a headline statement instead.
It also brought balance to the piece
as it was the same colour as the flower
I had already added in the top corner.

Day 11
With an image from Red Lead
& a fish image from the
Words as always found in an old book,
as I cut a much loved novel apart
to create new stories.

Day 14
The image of this thoughtful lady is from Shawn Petite.
I wonder what mystery she is trying to solve.
Personally, I was really pleased with my success
in tracking down just the right words to use,
taken from the same novel I am using throughout this challenge.
Erika |
I used 5" by 3" index cards,
words cut from an old novel,
papers from Hot Off The Press,
washi tape
& my own printed day numbers.
I am posting here just once a week,
but you can follow along daily on Instagram
or click on the challenge hashtag
to see artwork from all the participants.
