Wanderlust - Reflections

The first theme on Wanderlust 2021 was
Reflections.

Week 1

The inspiration was from
Kasia Avery

The focal point is a mirror
looking back to 2020,
with a clock face,
representing the passage of time.

I masked off the edge of the page
with Dina Wakley Media Tape.

Here are the items I used,
together with magazine images,
dressmaker pattern paper
& white gesso.

Week 2

The inspiration was from
Laly Mille

Gratitudes were written underneath
& wishes were made
as each flower was created.

Here are the materials I used,
together with white & clear gesso,
words cut from an old novel
& a newspaper.

Week 3

The inspiration was from
Kasia Avery

A self-portrait & intention setting.

Here are the materials I used,
together with clear gesso,
words cut from a magazine
& a newspaper
& white tissue paper.

Week 4

The inspiration was from
Shay Michelle

A watercolour background
over white gesso &
using salt to remove some of the pigment.

As I am using just one side of my journal
for each class,
I had to pick & choose
which elements to include.

On the reverse of the tag
are my wishes for 2021.

I used a Tim Holtz Flourish stencil
with my white Posca pen
over the watercolour background.

Next week we begin a new theme.

Back to Square One

England has begun it's third lockdown,

so I have begun another
100 Days of Daily Collage
project.

My substrate is a pack of playing cards.

My materials are anything that
I already have in my stash,
including words cut out from newspapers,
images from magazines, patterned papers etc

Day 1

Back to Square One

I will publish a blog post here once a week,
so if you would like to follow along every day,
you can find me on Instagram here.

A look back at 2020

Here are my most liked posts on Instagram this year,
which covered a cross-section,
but not all, of my art projects.

Here is a photograph of
my completed projects in my art room.

The Gratitude Challenge
with Dina Wakley
was done in my small Seawhite of Brighton journal,
which is not shown here.

Looking ahead to 2021,
I have enrolled in the Wanderlust class
which starts on 1st January.

It is a weekly class,
with a change to the theme
every four weeks.

I am planning on writing a blog post
just once a month.

To see what I am up to more frequently,
please either follow me on Instagram
or my newly created Facebook page
(click here to Like &/or Follow).

Looking Back ... Looking Forward

Week 52 in my
Mellow Kraft
Journal
.

The last journal theme
from France Papillon,
for December is
closure.

The final journal prompt is
2020.

I have used patterned paper
from Glenda Waterworth &
K-ology Addison patterned paper
from K & Company.

There is an image
from the Graphics Fairy,
photo corners by Paperchase,
washi tape,
words cut from an old novel
& printed text.

So that was quite a year.

One I doubt that we will ever forget.

I send you my very best wishes
for a happier & healthier new year.

My finished journal.

Thank you for following.

Cherish each Moment

Day 7 & the final day
of Beth Kempton's
wellness challenge,
inspired by
wabi sabi

The last topic was
cherishing
the moments.

I have used a Paper Doll
& Pocket Card
from Tim Holtz.

The background image
for my journal card
is from Shawn Petite.

I have also used photocorners
by Paperchase,
gold spotted tissue paper
& printed text.
