Art Journal Week 46

This is my art journal page for week 46.

The prompt this week on Colour Me Positive is Passion
& I have used something I wrote a few years ago.

The Truth Card (& inchies) use graphics from BGU.

The Artist Trading Card (ATC) is for The Craft Barn Alpha Challenge.
You can read more about it here.

The page background has a white gesso base.

The grid was created using a Black Stabilo All pencil & a waterbrush.

Here are my art journal pages for weeks 45 & 46 side by side.

Be Amazing

The Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn is a year long creative challenge,
using a letter from the alphabet every two weeks as inspiration.

The next letter (as it is not being done in alphabetical order) is
I
& we must include the definition of our chosen word.

I have chosen
Ideal.

I have used another quotation from Maya Angelou,
as my inspiration.

If you are always trying to be normal,
you will never know how amazing you can be.

The definition is torn from an old English dictionary
& the additional words are cut from an old book.

I had to adapt the quotation as the word normal was not in my book.

The ATC will have a place in my 2016 Art Journal for Week 46.

Art Journal Week 45

This is my art journal page for week 45.

The prompt this week on Colour Me Positive is Attitude.

I have used the quote suggested by CMP, by Maya Angelou.

If you don't like something
change it.
If you can't change it,
change your attitude.

I have used graphics from past classes at BGU.

The background has a white gesso base.

The grid was created using a black Stabilo All pencil & a waterbrush.

Art Journal Week 44

This is my art journal page for week 44.

The prompt this week on Colour Me Positive is Laughter.

The Truth Card uses graphics from BGU.

The Artist Trading Card (ATC) is for The Craft Barn Alpha Challenge.
You can read more about it here.

The page background has a white gesso base,
followed by two layers of acrylic paint (Butternut).

The grid was drawn using my Black Dylusions Paint Pen.

We began a new month this week.

Here are pages for weeks 43 & 44 together.

A Valuable Lesson

The Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn is a year long creative challenge,
using a letter from the alphabet every two weeks as inspiration.

The next letter (as it is not being done in alphabetical order) is
U
& we must include the definition of our chosen word.

I have chosen
Understand.

The image is from The Graphics Fairy.

The definition is torn from an old English dictionary
& the additional words are cut from an old book.

The ATC will have a place in my 2016 Art Journal for Week 44.

Art Journal Week 43

This is my art journal page for week 43.

The prompt this week on Colour Me Positive is Chase your Dreams.

This Artist Trading Card (ATC) is created from an art project
I made from Brave Girl University (BGU).

This project was a free course
(no longer available)
based on an original art piece
made by Melody Ross.

Melody calls her "my creative muse".

On this page I have used other graphics from past classes at BGU.

The background has a white gesso base,
followed by two layers of acrylic paint (Butternut).

The grid was drawn in using my Black Dylusions Paint Pen.

I added some Dymo tape as the finishing touch.

Art Journal Week 42

This is my art journal page for week 42.

The prompt this week on Colour Me Positive is Have a Break.

Sometimes a change is as good as a rest.

This week I took a trip to London to visit The British Museum,
to see the Sunken Cities exhibition.
A display of some of the relics found during the diving project in the sea,
just off the coast in Egypt.

No photographs were allowed,
but if you check Instagram you will find a few images.

Someone else wanted to get in on the act this week,
as you will have spotted in the photos above.

The Artist Trading Card (ATC) is for The Craft Barn Alpha Challenge.
You can read more about it here.

The page background has a white gesso base,
followed by two layers of acrylic paint (Pistachio).

The grid was drawn in using my White Dylusions Paint Pen,
which decided it wasn't going to work properly,
so I enlisted the help of my uni-ball Signo
& my uni POSCA white pens to add the doodling.

Here are pages for weeks 41 & 42 together.
