Just Family

The challenge on Art Creations Friday was to use the background provided.

All the images with one exception are from my own source,
taken from photographs of
my great-grandparents & their children,
an hundred year old postcard sent by my grandfather to his mother
& a fob watch inherited from another great-grandfather.

So, I would like to introduce Polly, who has changed from her normal gold outfit into a little pink number just for this challenge.

A Fathers Day card made using an image of an old advertising poster.

Daisy Chain

The challenge this week on Make a Moo or Two is
Happy.

The artwork includes a photograph
taken yesterday in my garden of a daisy
& an old photograph of me,
never happier than when in the garden making daisy chains,
watching the butterflies dancing in the gentle warm breeze.

The artwork was put on a mountboard base
& the edges were sanded for that distressed, shabby look that I love.

Beautiful

The challenge this week on Art Creations Friday was to incorporate the image provided into our project.

Here is my digital collage, using the background photograph I chose for the challenge on Artarazzi this week together with four of my own images; an old metal picture frame, some handmade paper & extracts from a dictionary, all found in a second hand shop a few days ago.

The butterfly is taken from a recent photograph of a Speckled Wood in my garden.

Here is my digital art journal page for this project.

Anxiety

I was privileged to be asked to set the digital challenge on Artarazzi this week.

Here is my digital collage, incorporating my chosen photograph.

The quotation is credited to Tryon Edwards,

"Anxiety is the rust of life, destroying its brightness
and weakening its power."

I chose the photograph, shown below, for various reasons. I love the colour combination of the blues & browns, the textures & dimensionality, but most of all because I thought it would be a challenge!
