Movie Star

The new inchie challenge theme on Inchy by Inch is Stars.

This is probably not what Fiona had in mind, but I have been inching, I mean itching to use this stamp from Paper Artsy on another project.

The base is an inch square of white mountboard, stamped with the words from the rubber stamp (Movie Star). The base was edged with black ink & then covered in a piece of acetate coloured with alcohol inks.

The embellishments were made from shrink plastic (using the same stamp), edged with my Krylon 18ct gold leafing pen for that little bit of glitz & glam. I punched a hole & set an eyelet using my crop-a-dile. I attached the star word using gold metallic thread.

I love the dimensionality of this piece & the touch of turquoise.

& a word Doo-Dad from Tim.

Autumn Word Book

Well this project started & progressed without a plan of how or what it would become. It finished up as a word book of Autumn memories.

I have used papers from the Shabby Princess Shabby Fall range.

The backgrounds were created using Distress Inks.

The book is 6cm in height & 17cm in length (when closed).

I love the final project & the creative process along the way.

an old button, eyelets & organza ribbon.

Secrets never to be told

I enjoyed making the small banner for the Creative Wednesday challenge this week, that I have made another segment. Not sure what the correct terminology to use here.

I have used the same image ( from Crafty Computer Paper ), papers from K&Company again, the keyhole is one of Tim's Grungeboard elements, gold Stickles & a really cute metal key charm by 7 Gypsies.

Autumn

The theme this week on Make a Moo or Two is
Autumn.

I have used papers from the Shabby Princess
Shabby Fall & Harvest Spice ranges
& my Sizzix Sidekick die-cutting machine
with their Yarn alphabet dies to create my Moo.

Extravagant Stories

The challenge on Creative Wednesday is to create a banner.

I have made just one section, for now.

I have used a mountboard base covered with K&Company paper and a lovely image from Crafty Computer Papers copyright-free graphics cd.

I have also used silver craft wire, an old button, a divine metal dragonfly charm, the crown is one of Tim's Grungeboard elements and some luxurious fibre to hang my banner up.

Autumn Celebration

Well Autumn is most definitely here, the leaves are changing colour, some have already fallen & the night's are drawing in.

So let's celebrate the arrival of the new season with a banner with colours & images associated with this time of year.

I have used papers from the Shabby Princess Harvest Spice range to create this banner, which is about 11 inches in height.

As usual, even the back is presentable.

One for the Boys

For this card, I have used papers from the Shabby Princess Moody Blues range.

My European Tour

Well not quite, but the theme this week on Make a Moo or Two is
European Cities.

I decided to use some of my photographs from various trips to Europe.

I took three photographs & inverted the images.

I added words that evoked memories of each trip.

The images were then printed out on to photographic paper.

I stuck them to mountboard bases,
so that I could sand the edges giving them an aged look.

I love the way they have turned out.

A Flowery Felt Fing

The current Artist Trading Card challenge set by Leonie is called Fibres & Fings.

I cut a flower shape from a piece of turquoise felt, using a Sizzix Sidekick machine & a daisy die. I stitched the flower to a piece of brown felt using brown cotton thread. The centre piece of the flower was stitched on to an brown button & attached using silicone glue.

Tip: When cutting through felt, pass the die & felt through the machine twice.

I took a mountboard base & edged it with a Krylon 18ct gold leafing pen. I stitched the brown felt on to the base using metallic gold thread.

To finish, I used a strip of brown felt as the flower stalk & added a circle of turquoise felt as an accent to the top.

Please note: No paper, ink or ribbon was harmed in the making of this ATC!

Autumn's here

The inchie challenge theme on Inchy by Inch is Autumn Days.

This is a quick inchie using paper & elements from the Shabby Princess Shabby Fall range.

To me Autumn means deep rich colours, falling leaves, blustery winds & the perfect excuse for hot buttery crumpets!

With love & best wishes

This is a birthday card made for an Aunt, using a fabulous clear stamp designed by Linda Luckin.

I also used papers from the Shabby Princess Vintage Florals range, Whispers pens & a drop or two of Glossy accents.

After some thought, I added some lettering using a Sizzix Sidekick die-cutting machine & their yarn Sizzlits alphabet set.

Just a note ...

Anice from Funky Hand has set the challenge on Daring Cardmakers this week, to use the following layout.

I used one of her paper designs from her Shabby Saturday range, but went for a monochrome effect (to reflect the grey weather we've been having lately).

I hope she doesn't mind!

Feeling a little blah?

The inchie challenge theme this week on Inchy by Inch
is about feeling blue,
losing your creative mojo
& generally feeling like you've got the blah's!

So here is my inchie,
using a old photograph of me being a tearful toddler
on a day when I was feeling under the weather.

Nice of them to have taken a photograph of me don't you think!

P is for Pumpkin

The challenge on Make a Moo or Two this week is
Pumpkins.

I used paper & elements from Shabby Princess,
green thread & Glossy accents.

04 September 2008

Floral Greetings

Leonie's Fab Friday artist trading card challenge this week is to use our paper punches.

I covered the mountboard base with paper from Crafts Beautiful, sanding to edges to soften the outline.

Using a Woodware funky heart paper punch, I cut ten heart shapes from the same paper. I shaped the hearts using an embossing tool & adhered them using silicone glue to make the flower. I punched one further heart to use as a accent.

A few pale pink gems & elements from the same paper kit were used as finishing touches.

Gothic Adventure

This canvas is inspired by the challenge on Mind Wide Open. We had to use the image provided on our project.

I knew I wanted to make another altered canvas, so took my lead from that. The canvas determined the size of the image, which was printed in greyscale onto adhesive cotton fabric (from Crafty Computer Paper). I frayed the edges before attaching the image to the canvas.

I coloured the image with chalks, adding a few vellum bats, some coloured dots, some knitting yarn & acrylic paints.

A stroll in the garden

The challenge this week on Creative Wednesday is to make a Skinny on the theme of In the Garden.

I stamped the white mountboard base with a new stamp from Claritystamp called Floribundance. I used a VersaMark watermark ink pad & heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The background colour was created using Distress Inks (milled lavender, tattered rose, weathered wood & peeled paint).

The image is from a copyright-free graphics cd from Crafty Computer Paper.

I printed the quote on the vellum & attached it with a brad.

The full quote is
"In my garden there is a large place for sentiment.
My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts & dreams.
The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers
& the dreams are as beautiful."
